A hammer seems like an obvious choice, but is it the best tool for the job? Here are the five best tools every woman should have in her tool belt.
Drill
It may seem like a dangerous jump, especially if you've never used one before, but the best tool a woman can buy is a cordless drill with a bit set. It can help you furnish and decorate your entire home in a cinch. The key to finding the perfect cordless drill is to finding one that fits your grip and is lightweight. Also make sure that it has multiple speeds and is reversible.
Claw Hammer
The hammer is your best friend and is necessary for decorating your walls with all of your favorite pictures. However, a claw hammer is handy because it helps remove the nails that we so commonly hammer too far into the wall.
The perfect hammer should fit well in your hand; pick up a couple of hammers and try them out before settling on one. Also, be sure to pick one that's lightweight, and don't forget the nails.
Tape Measure
Where would we be without a tape measure? There is no science behind finding the perfect tape measure, just make sure you get one. However, be sure to get one that is at least 25 feet long, winds up, and has a lock button -- especially for those one person jobs.
Level
To keep your projects looking clean and straight, a level is a must; this is the only way to ensure your belongings won't slide off of your shelves. A simple 8- to 12-inch level is the most useful type, and get a two-in-one so you can check your work vertically and horizontally.
Pliers
You will probably find the need for pliers quite often and there are a couple of different kinds that we suggest you keep on hand. The first is a standard lock pliers that you can use to cut wires, pull nails and, in some cases, even fix a leaky faucet. For the smaller jobs and hard to reach places, needle nose pliers are your tool.
